Graffiti and a New Photoshop Technique

Graffiti at the Subway (by RGP)

This is a shot taken from my subway platform.  There is a ton of graffiti lining the wall across the tracks but this one, for obvious reasons, sticks out.  It's all alone and rather big.  Apparently Pilot Spag is actually two graffiti artists and they're known for tagging over other people's work.  Clearly that wasn't the case here. My cousin Todd gave me this information.  I can't seem to find it on Google but my searches have been, admittedly, half assed.  Maybe you can find something more on "Pilot Spag".

I found a fun photoshop technique last night which I used on this photo.  I'm not entirely sure I got the exact effect they described but I have to say, I love the look on this.  THe original now looks like a washed out, crappy photo I took on the fly.  With this effect, I was able to give it a lot more depth and feeling.  I look forward to trying it out on a few more of my "so so" shots.

In other news,

The Flickr coffeerooms group is really starting to grow.  We're up to 25 members and counting!  However, the discussion both there and in the forums is seriously lacking.  I am trying to figure out the best way to start conversation.  It's really difficult.  I wonder if it's shyness I'm fighting or a general lack of interest?  Well, that can't be it because i know there are others out their like me. There has to be. For my sanity.

Did I just use a smiley face? I'm so ashamed!

I'm really looking forward to more people getting involved though, I really am.  I have already met a handful of amazing people over on flickr.   For example: helle-belle and her amazing landscapes and never ending wisdom or digiart2001 and his fantastic shots of NYC and it's goings on or mite from hamburg with her incredible attention to detail and extremely kind comments.

Just to name a few.

I look forward to meeting more artists every day and there really are some amazing creative minds beginning to show up at the flickr group.  I hope they find their way over to the forums sometime too. I know this can only be, in the words of Martha, a good thing.

Wow, that was as bad as the smiley face.  Yikes.
